Another wonderful podcast!!! It was a really nice and appropriate change of pace to momentarily step away from movies and focus on movie soundtracks this time out. And I must say I had no problem with any of the soundtracks you mentioned -- even though I shudder to admit that I still have yet to see the original THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR. Believe me, I've been wanting to get it for a looooong time but just never seemed to get the opportunity. But the hour is nigh. . .

Oh, and I can't tell you precisely the happy yelp that escaped from me when I heard the first notes of the song from THE ITALIAN JOB!!! I'm so glad you mentioned that! One of my absolute favourite soundtracks is Bernard Herrmann's magical score to THE GHOST AND MRS MUIR which is more romantic and haunting than I could possibly describe.

Oh and kudos to you for mentioning the often overlooked Richard Boone! While I never saw a single episode of HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL, I loved him in I BURY THE LIVING -- if it wasn't for that maddeningly annoying final reel!!! Kudos again for another fine podcast!

NEWS FLASH to Paleocinema fans! For those who live in the U.S. (and even for those who don't) the Australian biker flick STONE is being released on DVD May 20 and a Criterion Collection edition of the 1940 THIEF OF BAGDAD is coming out May 27 -- both prominently featured in the Paleocinema podcast! I've already got mine pre-ordered.
