Paleo-Cinema Podcast 113 - Guys And Dolls, Paint Your Wagon

For 113 I look at a couple of musicals in which non-singing actors sing. The actors are Clint Eastwood, Lee Marvin and Marlon Brando and the movies are 1955's Guys And Dolls and 1969's bloated, over the top musical Paint Your Wagon.

Paleo-Cinema Podcast 112 - Seven Men From Now Ride Lonesome

For Double One Two I discover and delight in two of Budd Boetticher and Randolph Scott's 's Ranown Cycle Westerns, 1956's Seven Men From Now and 1959's Ride Lonesome. These movies are westerns distilled to a fine essence.

Paleo-Cinema Podcast 109- The Rocking Horse Fountainhead Winner

For 109 I look at two films from 1949 - the silly Objectivist pot-boiler The Fountainhead starring Gary Cooper and Patricia Neal and a much better British film, The Rocking Horse Winner starring John Mills, Valerie Hobson and John Howard Davies. There's also the news that Paleo-Cinema was reviewed by The Onion AV Club, and it's a good one.

Paleo-Cinema Podcast 108 - Under The Milk Wood Of Pitiless Time.

For Paleo-Cinema Podcast 108 I explore my Welsh ancestry with a squizz at 1972's Under Milk Wood starring Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor and Peter O'Toole, based on the radio play by Dylan Thomas. This is followed by a tight, well-scripted and brilliantly acted but little known British crime drama from 1957, Time Without Pity starring Michael Redgrave, Leo McKern and Lois Maxwell. There's feedback, too. Email:kultguru@gmail.com The voicemail number (US) is (206) 203 3299.

Paleo-Cinema Podcast 106 - Private Hell 36/ Witness For The Prosecution

For 106 I look at the Don Siegal 1954 film noir, Private Hell 36, starring Ida Lupino, Howard Duff and Steve Cochrane. To match it, we have Billy Wilder's 1957 adaptation of Agatha Christie's 1925 story and 1953 stage play, Witness For The Prosecution starring Charles Laughton, Tyrone Power, Elsa Lanchester and Marlene Dietrich. This episode also celebrates Paleo-Cinema's 5th Anniversary. iTunes reviews are welcome and feedback is especially welcome.
